On November 16th-17th 2019
I was invited to take part in the Workshop „How to Not Be a Stuffed Animal“
by the coreographer Laurie Young and the anthropologist Susanne Schmitt
link to their project: https://movingnaturalhistorymuseums.com/about
with my contribution:
INPUT (METHOD)WORKSHOP ON ANIMAL BIOGRAPHICS
How do animals participate in and contribute to historical, social and cultural processes and how can their individual experiences be imagined, pictured, recorded? The workshop introduces artistic and scientific research methods to document animal’s (auto)biographical interests and discusses their (co-)authorship in shaping shared environments. Inspired from her background as scenographer and researcher on animal’s spaces in the field of Human-Animal Studies Anne Hölck invites the participants to try-outs of the creative techniques reenactment, mapping and storytelling as approach to animal perspectives and developing interspecies competence.
